

COMPANY HISTORY
Since our founding in 1957, LIQUI MOLY has reached significant milestones: from the introduction of pioneering products and concepts for the company itself as well as the entire industry to the successful development of international markets and ongoing investments in research and development. Achievements that reflect our unwavering commitment to meeting our customers’ needs and building a global presence.
The first product was an oil additive that contains the solid lubricant Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2), protecting the motor against wear and tear. Today, after more than 60 years, this oil additive is still being produced. This additive gave the company its name – “LIQUI” because it is a liquid additive, and “MOLY” because of the Molybdenum Disulfide.
From humble beginnings as a small additive producer, LIQUI MOLY has grown substantially as a globally renowned one-stop brand with more than 4000 products for cars, motorbikes, commercial vehicles, bicycles, garden devices and industrial applications, as well as boats and aircrafts. LIQUI MOLY has been raising the bar in terms of quality and service via continuous quality inspections from raw material deliveries, to production, right through to shipment.
As a global brand present in over 150 countries worldwide, maintaining a close connection to motorsports and the expansion of international brand awareness is the focus of LIQUI MOLY’s sponsorship activities.
LIQUI MOLY is a loyal partner of MotoGP and has a strong brand presence on and off track, serving as the title sponsor in the German and Australian Grand Prix.
Since 2022, LIQUI MOLY has also started a 3-year agreement with Formula 1 as an official sponsor. This partnership includes track signages at 11 Grand Prix and an increase in brand recognition with Formula 1 audiences across the world. The LIQUI MOLY logo can also be seen in the TCR Touring Car Championship.
